Happy Flag Day....Happy Birthday...

To My Dad!

Today would have been my Dad's 84th birthday. He passed away suddenly of a heart attack while at work back in 1981, he was only 57.

I can't help but wonder how different mine and my childrens life would have been had he lived to be a part of it.

My Dad had his faults, and his temper, but he had mellowed so by the time I grew up and got married and we were just starting to become so very close, when I got that fateful phone call in the middle of the night.
Time has healed the wounds, but I don't think I ever got over the shock of how quickly one of our loved ones can be taken away from us, and without warning.
I know he would have been so very proud of his Grandchildren, and would have been a big part of their lives.

Happy Flag Day and Happy Birthday Dad, and thank you for your time serving our country!

I miss you.

Happy Birthday Daddy Dogpatch!!
Not only would he be proud of his grandchildren, he'd be very proud of his talented daughter too. Remember, he is always with you in spirit. :> )

LOL... I would miss him terribly if he were taken away from me but, memories go a long way... Peanut said it... he is always with you....Hugs, MO

What a beautiful and touching tribute to your Dad, Patty. (Of course, it made me cry!) I can't believe how much Stevie looks like him.

I'm sure he would be so proud of all of you, but especially you!
