Happy Mothers Day

Sometimes you get discouraged

Because I am so small

And always leave my fingerprints

On furniture and walls.

But every day I'm growing -

I'll be grown some day

And all those tiny handprints

Will surely fade away.

So here's a little handprint

Just so you can recall

Exactly how my fingers looked

When I was very small.

I've loved and appreciated this poem ever since my son made a calendar for me with his handprints along with this poem printed on the front.
That was way back when, when he was only 5 years old and in kindergarten.
He turns 19 this year :)
Since then it has served as reminder that we really shouldn't sweat the small stuff. We don't realize at the time that those handprints on everything are nothing short of a blessing! I sure miss my children being little, and although I have such fond memories of spending time with them, I was like so many of us and so busy working and in such a hurry that I didn't enjoy them as much as I could have.
Young moms....enjoy your little ones, b/c before you know it, they will be grown!
Happy Mothers day to all!

Patty your words are so true.

The wonderful thing about being a Mother is that some of us are blessed to relive cherished moments with our Grandchildren.

Happy Mothers Day!

I love that poem! My oldest grandson gave that to me for Christmas when he was 2 years old. We should never take those little handprints for granted, whether it be our children or grandchildren. Where would we be if they were wiped away? Thank you for a great post! Happy Mother's Day, Dawn
