Be True to the RED WHITE and BLUE

It's that time of the year again. The Patriotic season has begun, and will soon be in full swing. I'm not sure it ever really ended. Really though, it's time now to move on from bunnies (for me anyway) to the good ol Uncle Sam's, Lib's, and the very heart of the
~RED WHITE & BLUE ~
I'm looking so forward to this most exciting season of all, and to kick it off, I've got just a little somthin for Simply Primitives on the 1st. of March. Be sure to stop by to see it all, but for now...here's just a little peek.

Last in the series

I've just finished this last piece from my 2008 © "Some Bunny Loves Me" Easter collection! You can find it on Eaby. I call it "Papa don't you walk so fast".....inspired by that ol song by Wayne Newton. I was never a big fan of his, but I do remember that song, and while in the midst of creating this last piece....the chorus of that song just kept playing over and over in my head. So, maybe now that I'm older and wiser I can appreciate that song a whole lot more.

All of the pieces in this series were created w/ the intent and focus on love and endearment, particularly between a parent and child. There is no greater bond in my opinion.

I'm so sad that this is the last, and I really had hoped to create more pieces for this series, as I've got ideas swirling around in my mind.....but time just got away from me, the flu bug saw to that.

Below are the other 2 pieces from the collection. I hope you enjoy seeing them, and when you do...I hope they make you feel a little warm and fuzzy all over!

Until next time, remember......Some Bunny Loves You!

My very first award.......

and my fancy is plum tickled!
Thanks for makin my day Cook! I'm so delighted and honored to have one of these little awards! I'm blushing for sure!
Here's the idea behind this particular prize/award......
This prize has arisen from the daily visits that I dedicate to many blogs which nourish me and enrich me with creativity. In them I see dedication, creativity, care, comradeship, but mainly, ART, much art.
thanks again for thinking of me Cook, I would give it right back if I could!

Baking cookies = Making memories

Happy Valentines Day!

I have such fond memories of the times I spent w/ my Mim as a child. She was just the BEST! She loved when we would come over, and she always had something fun for us to do, whether it was showing us how to use her liquid embroider or how to sew, or baking!
I remember she sent out Valentines to us grandkids, and it was always such a treat when the mailman would deliver them.
Ahhh, there is just nothing that will ever replace these memories!

Anyway.....having such a beautiful Grandmother has surely given me the desire to create wonderful memories for my only grandchild "Zoey" to take through life w/ her.

We planned to bake Valentine cupcakes and cookies, and the plan was for her to come to my house, but she was feeling under the weather, so I packed up the cake mix, the homemade Sugar Cookie dough (Mim's recipe), the sprinkles and candies to decorate them with, and off I went to Zoey's house.

What fun we had.......she rolled out the dough herself, and cut the cookies out too if you look closely at the first pic, you can see she has flour all over her face..hehe! I used to think everything had to be perfect, and I would do everything for my own kids instead of letting them do it themselves. I now realize it took all the fun out of it, the cookies don't need to be perfect, they're only for us, and we have no one to impress. What is most important is the learning and the fun of getting your hands dirty, and believe me.....Zoey did just that!

The cookies are yummy, and the cupcakes (yellow w/ cherry frosting) are scrumptious!

Thank you Zoey, for creating such fun memories w/ YaYa!

Old Fashioned Soft Sugar Cookies

1 1/2 cup Sugar
1 cup Butter
2 eggs
1 tsp. Vanilla
4 1/2 cups sifted Flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 cup sour cream

Beat butter and sugar til light and fluffy. Add eggs and beat well. Add vanilla.
Sift together the flour, soda, salt, baking powder and nutmeg. Add to creamed mixture alternately w/ sour cream. Mix well. Chill dough overnight and roll out on floured board (not too thin).
Bake at 375 for 8 to 10 minutes just til set.

Take time to make a memory :)

A long time coming!

Finally, something for ebay! This set seemed to take me forever to finish. I've had it started for well over a week now.
Our TDIPT ebay group is having a group launch, called "The Birds and Bees...and Bunnies too", and I so wanted to have this listed last Tuesday, but just could not seem to get it done. It's not the most detailed piece I've ever made, but it sure was one of my more difficult, b/c I kept getting in the way. Me and my procrastination that is. I'm so glad to have it done, so that I can move on to my next set. I sure hope I can stay out of my own way this time around.
Anyway....it'll be on ebay tonight around 10:30, and it ends on Tuesday.
Be sure to check out all the other offerings from our members.......lots and lots of goodies!

Here I am!

It took me a while...but I'm here, finally, I'm a blogger too :)

I've actually had my lil' slice of the blog world for some time now, just setting here w/ nothing more than a name, a banner, and a few links. I've been dragging my feet forever it seems, wanting to take the blog plunge, but not knowing how to jump in.
It seems I'm only comfy if everything is just right, just so, it all needs to be in place, doesn't it? Or does it? Maybe it doesn't have to be, and it's OK.
I feel so blog-challenged, like I've been plopped in a strange and unfamiliar place, blind, and with no Braille available. I'm having a bit of a hard time finding my way around this new blogging world. I can't even get my all my colors how I want them, and there is some funny "icon" and I don't know where it came from or what the heck it is. It's driving me crazy, but guess what? I'm lettin it go.
I'll get it, I know I will, it's just gonna take me some time, and plenty of it, so I hope you can bear with me, and my not so perfect blog. I'll get all my ducks in a row.......eventually.

Now....about me. Well, I'm an animal advocate who loves creating prim dolls! I love anything old and worn, and I love all animals, w/ a special fondness for dogs...I know, you never would have guessed that, right? My heart breaks for anything mistreated, human or otherwise. Us humans....well, we have a voice, the animals....they don't. I try to help when I can.

I'm looking so forward to this blogging. I'll be sharing some stories from my life's journey.....the simple things......close to my heart. I'll also share my prim creations with you, and occasionally a good recipe, b/c, I know myself.....for me, some foods can be the ultimate comfort when nothing else works, right?

If you're an animal lover.....you'll love it here, if not......I hope you will open your eyes, even if just a little.

til next time......

Patty
